A mug of tea, or maybe a bubbly water when it's hot. Also way too many pens to go with the way too many notebooks!

Yes, the tea! It‘s a tragedy when I forget it, though, and I find myself with a mug filled with lukewarm vaguely tasty water 😂

Oooh, I forgot to mention beverages! Yes, I usually always have tea or coffee on my desk as well. I can relate to having too many pens and notebooks too!

You would find the ceramic head of a black heat which holds my airpods, hair ties, bobby pins, an extra charger and a tomogachi. Plus two other laptops...

Thank you for sharing a look at your writer's desk! I love the lucky seashell- something to hold hold (a multi-sensory thing for sure) and muse, and truly there's no place better to write than in front of a window!

I do want to suggest a little decorative dish under your candle though; I had one leak on my once (was it a breeze? a slanted floor? the quality of the wax?) and it did cause quite a mess. I have a wide array of little dishes and cups from goodwill especially for candle and floral purposes.

Thanks for your compliments and suggestion! The candle actually isn’t real though, so no danger of any wax dripping on the table!

I haven’t really set up my desk specifically for writing, but I just cleaned it up and redecorated it last week or so. I have a lot of special decor in soft colors, many with memories, too.

A nice lamp with soft, warm lighting is a must, and I have a tiara sitting around the base of it for decoration; there’s also faux flowers in a French wine bottle for a vase and a glitter lamp. I have a mini teapot that I was gifted, tucked away by the flowers; a beautiful vintage Angel water globe which I found at an antique store years ago and several pastel angel figures; my mother’s cobalt blue geode bookends; a couple special statues and images; and a scattering of pink cherry blossoms and a rose atop a piece of lace my great-grandmother crocheted.

As for beverages, coffee is needed! Even better if there happen to be cookies or goldfish in the house.

I love the Japanese calendar 😍 it’s so pretty and the concept is so poetic!

I have a real scented candle on my desk (in a jar, plus a glass protection around it so that it‘s safe)—often the simple act of sitting down and turning that on has helped me to get me in position at my desk to start writing. Otherwise, I have a whole array of self drawn calendars and trackers, because making those is how I „productively“ procrastinate 🤣

Thank you! Yes, the calendar is so pretty to look at and see what is revealed day by day. I love the sound of your candle. It really is amazing to me how a simple change in lighting or a ritual like lighting a candle can signal to the mind to switch to creative mode!

AirPods are definitely important. I think I also had a tomogachi years ago—a pink one I think. They were so fun!

Wow your desk sounds gorgeous with all the decor and flowers among others accessories! Coffee and cookies sound heavenly as well. I usually sip coffee or tea while writing depending on my mood. I love snacking on goldfish or cheez its as well. Thanks for sharing!
