My Musings: Fantasy Readers and Writers, What Do You Love Most About the Genre?

I love writing fantasy books and short stories to experience escapism. Stephen King once said “Fiction is the truth inside the lie,” and I have experienced this in my own writing. Many of my works deal with struggles I am going through at the time I am writing them. Yet simultaneously the magic of fantasy provides a filter—a different lens and backdrop to view my experience through without evoking the difficulty and often inescapable mundaneness of reality.
